Unfortunately it's been a bit of a crazy week with travel, and projects so I've been neglecting my blog - which is something I did before and I swore this time up and down, I wouldn't do it again *grin*. Anyway, a couple of tidbits of news. ...
MIX 08
MIX is rumbling down the tracks and this year to add a frisson of excitement, I've been very lucky to be invited to speak on a panel, specifically the "Real World Design: Working with Silverlight and WPF in the Design Studio" panel on March 6th with some illustrious peers such as Beau Ambur from Metalliq, Chip Aubry from Tribal and Nathan Dunlap from Identity Mine. Chris Bernard will be moderating, and it's shaping up to be a very interesting discussion which I'm really looking forward to. If you are visiting MIX come by and say hello, you can see the full session schedule here. I'll also be live blogging/Twittering and putting up photos from the event.
Code 2 Live
One of the things we're working on at Neudesic is elevating the user experience for users of Sharepoint. There's really three main scenarios for changing the UI, bog standard out of the box, UI augmentation with custom webparts and finally complete replacement of the UI with customisation of the base master pages, or building a separate presentation layer.
In our Design Technology group we recently built out a proof-of-concept for complete replacement by building custom webservices and implementing an entirely new front end using Silverlight 2.0 Alpha and we got together with Josh Holmes to demonstrate it to him for his Code To Live online show. When we get the video up, I'll post the link so you can check it out. This particular subject is worthy of a series of separate blog postings
(indeed it's something we're putting together at the moment), so in the near future keep an eye out for example scenarios and thinking.
